Heart vigilance and staying steadfast on the path (Growing Deeper with Proverbs 4:20-27)

As we peer over the brink of 2022, it feels as if uncertainty might be the only certainty. Enter Proverbs 4:23: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

  • In a year of uncertainty, what kind of a person are you going to be in your most significant relationships?
  • In a year of uncertainty, what is your state of mind going to be like?
  • In a year of uncertainty, how is Jesus going to use you for his good purposes?

Although much is uncertain, God is certain. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. That’s why we need to guard our hearts in him. You’re less likely to get knocked off centre, if you’re properly centred.

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—a more in-depth look at Proverbs 4:20-27.

I take us through these eight verses, provide some background and explanation, and make some suggestions headed into a new year.

An unguarded hearts is the enemy’s playground. A guarded heart is God’s.

Enjoy!
