The infamous Forrest Gump once said: “Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get.”
I get what he’s saying; life is very uncertain. But one of the certainties we do know about is that hurts and hardships will, at some point, come knocking.
Another certainty is that, even though none of us are offered a free pass, that God promises his presence and help through the pain.
All of this is a part of a teaching series I’m leading called, “Help When It Hurts.” If you have hurt, are hurting, or could hurt at some point in the future, then this series is for you.
In this 3rd installment we ponder how our hurts change us. So the question we need to ask ourselves is whether we will let them change us for the better… or for the worse?
Let’s develop a more mature and biblical response to the hurts we face in life. It may be one of the most important things you ever do.
Who you are and who you can be emerges from the ashes of what you’ve been through.
