Psalm 91 has long held a special place in the hearts of God’s people. Verses 1 and 2 say, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Derek Kidner, the Old Testament commentator, has said: “This is a psalm for danger: for times of exposure and encirclement or of challenging the power of evil.”
Sounds like a psalm for the living of these challenging days!
In this sermon from May 24, 2020, I take us through the text and invite you to respond to five questions in the process as we seek to “dwell in the shelter of the Most High.”
