Soul fatigue.
It’s a deep, inner exhaustion that many people are experiencing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
An article from the University of California describes the situation well: “We’re tired of being cooped up, tired of being careful, tired of being scared… ‘This is a real challenge,’ said Kaye Hermanson, University of California (Davis) Health psychologist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. ‘There are no easy solutions… We know there are two kinds of stress that have long-term effects on our mental well-being and physical health—intense stress and prolonged stress,’ Hermanson said. ‘We have both.’”
So where do we find relief!
In this sermon from August 2, 2020, I explore Matthew 11:25-30, explain how Jesus can give us relief eternally, daily and weekly, and offer some practical suggestions.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
