We live in the age of the quick-fix. Because of drive-thru windows, smartphones, buttons and pills we have become accustomed to getting things fast.
Since we can get some things quickly we think we should be able to get all things quickly. But that’s not always the case, especially with things like joy.
This sermon explores the joy Jesus promises to his disciples in John 16:4-24, and invites us to think about joy not as a pill, but as a diet which is supplied by God’s promises and practices.
