An honest prayer to the Lord who is forever faithful

Join in with this brief but honest prayer to the Lord who is forever faithful, even when our own faith stumbles.

It is taken from the worship service at Westminster Church on April 19, 2026.


Lord, who is the very definition of faithfulness:
We throw that word around—faith.
But only you are forever in your faithfulness.
Only you are unrelenting in your love.
Only you are immoveable in truth.
Your loyalty is deeper than oceans.
Your mercy is more abundant than the stars.
Your Word is so strong that it makes a mountain range look flimsy.
Lord, who is the very definition of faithfulness:
We cling to you, but we are already in your grip. Of course, because you are you: faithful.
Forgive our faith when it is shallow.
We are sorry. We turn back to you. We trust.
Forgive our love when it is temperamental.
We are sorry. We turn back to you. We trust.
Forgive our thinking when it is selfish and arrogant.
We are sorry. We turn back to you. We trust.
This faithful day, renew 100% of 100% of our souls, our situations, our bodies, our brains—all for your never-failing glory.
These things we pray boldly, in the name of Jesus, raised, ruling, renovating, soon to return, and together with the word he taught us to pray, saying:
Our Father…
