And you shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days (Daniel 11:36-12:13)

Disappointment, uncertainty, chaos, pain… and hope? When you know the end of the story it can change your experience as you live through the middle of the story. Or, put another way, knowing what will happen helps us get through what is happening.

This sermon covers Daniel 11:36 to 12:13 (the end of the book). It is the last vision Daniel receives about the end of days. It is a word of both big picture perspective and capital-H Hope, especially for those times when you struggle to hold on to both.

The end times inject hope into these times (which is very good news). The details that are revealed to Daniel aren’t random facts; they are confirmed by Jesus, and give us motivation moving forward as we trust the big picture plan of an Almighty God.

What Daniel was told then is still an encouragement for us today: Keep believing and keep going. “And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.”
