Mature people mature people [Sermon]

Maturity.

It’s soul gold in a world of cheap trinkets; clarity in a world with much darkness;
water in a parched information age; and joy for the journey.

So how do we get it?

That’s what I’m exploring in this teaching series: “Mature: 4 Things Mature People Do on the Path of Joy.” Because in the book of Philippians maturity is, actually, connected to joy.

This sermon is Part 3 in a series of 4.

In it, I

(a) explain why it’s important to be deliberate about the information we consume in our heavy media culture (especially because we humans are so impressionable);

(b) take us through Philippians 2:19-3:21;

(c) highlight how mature people learn from the example of other mature Christians in three specific ways based on the text. These are three specific, biblical traits to look for in others who can serve as godly, mature examples in our lives.

God puts people in our lives to help us pilot our lives.
