Put your finger in my side, receive the Holy Spirit, and go! (Growing Deeper with John 20:19-31)

The disciples were gathered in a locked room. They were afraid.

As if out of nowhere, Jesus arrives with nail marks in his hands and says, “Peace be with you!”

John’s Gospel preserves this incredible story. It includes “doubting Thomas” (who becomes believing Thomas), Jesus breathing on them and the words “Receive the Holy Spirit,” and a lesser knowing commissioning to the disciples.

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—and in-depth look at John 20:19-31.

I take us through the text and provide some background and context.

Enjoy!

The sermon that goes along with this same section of text is called “Ordinary Missionary” and can be accessed here.
