God is our refuge, strength and fortress (Growing Deeper with Psalm 46)

Psalm 46 is often read during times of national or global upheaval. In those troubling times, when it feels like the world itself is coming undone, we are comforted by the reminder that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” We’re comforted by those words when dealing with personal crises as well.

This psalm was also the inspiration for Martin Luther’s Reformation hymn, “A mighty fortress is our God.”

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—and in-depth look at Psalm 46.

Enjoy!

The sermon that goes along with this same section of text is called “Be still, and know that I am God” and can be accessed here.
