Stabilizers for the Coming Storm [Sermon]

Jesus said he would return. He also said that several things would happen first: wars and rumours of war, false Messiahs, increasing Christian persecution, an increase in lawlessness, and a decrease in love.

What are we supposed to do in the midst of all of this? The answer might surprise you: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances…”!

This sermon is a part of our teaching series called ‘The Beginning is Nigh.’ Pastor Ruttan takes us through 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28, explains some often-neglected elements of Jesus’ personal prayer life, and encourages us to commit ourselves to invisible stability structures that will fortify us for the coming storm.
