(Replay) A serious historical deep dive into the Nativity Story

For the past few years, at this time of year, there is a spike in interest in this podcast episode I released a few years back—it is a serious historical deep dive into the nativity story from Luke’s Gospel, chapter 2.

What was Nazareth like? Do we know anything about Jesus’ boyhood home? How long was the journey to Bethlehem? Was there actually a donkey—or a barn for that matter? What’s the deal with soldiers and angels? Why was Mary in danger? What is a Messiah, anyway?

And, of course, what does it all mean?

This episode is a replay of that previous episode for those who are new to the podcast, or for those who simply want to cut again to the heart of the matter, at a time when Christmas can get cluttered, causing us to lose focus from what (and who) matters most. Enjoy!
