Calling all witnesses: prophecies, history and time bow to Jesus (Growing Deeper with John 5:30-47)

Life can be difficult. Wait, hold on a second. Life IS difficult! Since there are storms everywhere we’d better have the right captain.

But how do we know? What if all the best and most trustworthy witnesses the universe could muster told you that captain was Jesus? Oh, and what if God put all the pieces together at just the right point in history to ensure that his message and mission stretched around the globe to reach a huge amount of people, including you?

Because that’s what happened.

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later–an in-depth look at John 5:30-47.

I take us through the text, unpack some of Jesus’ words that the Old Testament Scriptures witness to himself, and highlight several other factors which should give us increasing confidence that he is who he says he is. This is especially vital if we are to have confidence in him as captain in the storm.

*Note: In the podcast I indicated that I would include a link to J. Warner Wallace’s book Person of Interest: Why Jesus Still Matters in a World That Rejects the Bible. Here it is.

Enjoy!

The sermon connected to this same section of text is called “The key to weathering a storm” and can be accessed here.
