The God who works wonders through suffering and pain: the healing of the man born blind (Growing Deeper with John 9)

Do your hardships define you? Not necessarily.

Do they limit God? Definitely not.

Jesus’ disciples saw a man born blind and wondered if the man or his parents had sinned to deserve such a hard life. It’s a way of thinking called Karma: what goes around comes around.

Jesus’ response was ‘no.’ The man (nor his parents) sinned to deserve it. “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

Wow. Imagine if we applied that thinking to ourselves. Well, we can.

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—and in-depth look at John 9:1-41.

I take us through the text, provide some background, and encourage us to think of the power of God at work in our own lives, especially in those areas of pain and difficulty.

Enjoy!
