Persecution, being hated, and falling away according to Jesus (Growing Deeper with John 15:18-6:4)

Jesus said: “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.”

He went on to tell his disciples about the nature of the world’s hatred for him, and also about persecution. This is on the heels of what he said about “abiding” in him. If you are hugging someone who is sprayed with a firehose, you’re also going to get wet. Well, in a similar way, if you’re standing beside Jesus, you’re going to catch some heat from his opponents.

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—and in-depth look at John 15:18-16:4.

I take us through the text, provide historical and contextual background, and leave us with some things to consider in our own situation today.

Enjoy!
