Longing, Satan, Love and Holiness (Growing Deeper with 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13)

Satan had been working overtime to stop Paul. He wanted to thwart his work because, well, it was God’s work.

But with the Lord’s help, Paul persisted, and the young believers in Thessalonica were starting to thrive — even if they needed a lot of instruction and encouragement.

The return of Jesus was on their mind. How should they act? Paul prayed to God for them and highlighted two specific things.

What he said to them then continues to be helpful to us today.

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—and in-depth look at 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13.

I take us through the text, provide some background and context, and suggest some possible applications to our lives today.

Enjoy!

The sermon that goes along with this same section of text is called “Holiness is Readiness” and can be accessed here.
