Holiness is Readiness [Sermon]

We don’t talk about it a lot but Jesus is coming back. That’s a big deal. So how do you personally prepare? In addition to trusting him, we are told that when he comes we should be living holy lives.

We urgently need to re-claim (and better understand) the word “holy.” It’s been trampled. “Holier than thou?” We need to do so not only for our own personal preparation, but so that we can rightly share God’s love with a hurting world. As Jesus’ return approaches, we are to engage (not disengage) the world around us. Love outpoured is the ripple of personal holiness.

This sermon on 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13 looks at Paul’s instructions and prayers and seeks to apply them to our own modern lives. Holiness is readiness.
