Christ is the visible image of the invisible God (Growing Deeper with Colossians 1:15-23)

Mixed-up thinking results in mixed-up living. This was happening to the Colossians. They were doubting Jesus. As a result, their lives were starting to go off the rails.

So Paul wrote a corrective letter which was helpful, loving and clear. He explained the supremacy of Jesus in no uncertain terms. None other than Almighty God has given himself to us; this personal and sacrificial act speaks directly to the peace and confidence we can have as his people. Or, at least, it speaks to the peace and confidence we can have as his people.

The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—an in-depth look at Colossians 1:15-23 as I continue with a new teaching series on the book as a whole.

I take us through the text, provide some background, context and history, and provide a suggestion for how we might apply some of this to our lives today.

Enjoy!

The sermon that goes along with this same section of text is called “The Supremacy, Sufficiency and Security of Christ” and can be accessed here.
