The Colossians were going off track. They were engaging in “syncretism”–i.e. blending beliefs and practices into their faith from other systems of thought, and even the demonic realm itself.
Not good. Mixed-up thinking results in mixed-up living. In fact, it results in darkness and harm.
With maturity, grace and confidence, Paul reminds them about what it means to call Jesus “the Lord.”
The Pulse Podcast is about living abundantly wholeheartedly. It includes different kinds of content: Interviews, featured topics, or biblical studies. This episode is the later—an in-depth look at Colossians 2:6-23 as I teach through Paul’s letter to the Colossians.
I take us through the text, provide some background, and make a few suggestions about how we might apply some of these insights to our lives today.
Enjoy!
The sermon connected to this same section of text is called “Mesus, McJesus and the Rise of Fear” and can be accessed here.
