In this sermon on Pentecost Sunday on May 23, 2021, I take us through Acts 2:1-41 to describe the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the apostles and first disciples — something which continues to have ongoing significance for our lives today.
I provide background to this seminal New Testament text; discuss the basis for the global unity of the church; Peter’s call to repentance, faith and baptism; how the Holy Spirit continues to work in the normal-but-not-so-normal every day events of believers; and how to re-think what it means to be “spiritual.”
Low-drama spirituality can have a highly dramatic impact.
